One of the open cultures that can relate to his work is open design which is referring to the most legendary cartoon icon ‘Mickey Mouse’. Open design is an application of open source methods to the creation of physical products or machines to develop projects. In 1929, instead of having just one famous cartoon figure, Walt created new friends for Mickey Mouse namely Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck.
